A fellow Elevensie, author Beth Revis just got a nice and well-deserved plug from Publisher’s Weekly on her debut novel, Across the Universe. Now that I’ve had a first chance to read the first chapter, I agree with Publisher’s Weekly’s assessment that this is a killer first chapter. I can’t wait to read Beth’s novel.
You can read the first chapter here, but I should warn you that the book will not be available until January. After reading this chapter, you’re going to wish you could get your hands on the book right away!
What books are on your to-read list?

That was really good. The publisher promised to send me one of the first ARCs. I hope he does. He was so excited when he spoke about this book in January at a conference. He couldn’t reveal any details at the time, but as soon as it became public, I knew this was the book he was talking about. I agree with you. I can’t wait to get it!
I’m a terribly impatient person so I’m going to bookmark this post and save that chapter until we’re a few months closer! That’s so exciting for your fellow Elevensie though! I’ll be sure to check their book out when the time comes.
This has to be one of the best chapters of all time. January is looking SO far away!!!
That’s a fantastic first chapter. I shouldn’t have read it, because now I want to finish it.
June: I’m really excited about this book. Can’t wait to read it!
Heather: That’s a wise idea.
Terry: I know. I almost wish I hadn’t read that first chapter because now I can’t wait to read the rest of the story.
Medeia: It’s sort of like torture. I have a feeling I’m going to love Beth’s book.
I too want to wait till the time gets closer, then i’ll read it. Right now i’m reading Eat Pray Love, i’m going to wait to see the movie after i’m done with the book.
i too will wait till it gets closer before i read the chapter. I’m reading Eat Pray Love right now, i’m going to wait to see the movie after i’m done with the book.
oops, sorry about the double comment, i didnt realize the first one went thru…i’m still new at all this blogging stuff.
Alissa! Thank you for posting this!!
Monica: Waiting to read it is a good idea as it certainly ends with a cliffhanger.
You’re welcome, Beth!
